With the dental x-rays, your dentist can understand what is happening in your mouth and locate the problem faster and with greater accuracy than traditional poking and prodding, which can be both painful and make for a longer dentist visit.

The machines used for a dental x-ray use a high speed film, and we use a lead apron to cover the body. A full set of x-rays delivers 800 times less radiation than a chest x-ray you would receive at the emergency room.
Dental x-rays are advancing technologically as well. Digital x-rays are often available, with no need for film or chemical processing. Additionally these x-rays develop at a faster speed and further reduce the radiation level to the patient. Digital x-rays produce an image almost instantly (within three seconds) and can be modified to use color contrast, making them easier to understand for the patient. With the advent of digital x-rays, the patient becomes more involved in their dental healing process as they often see the image on the monitor while in the dentist's chair.
