Veneers are made from a porcelain or resin composite, either at our dental lab or in the office. When veneers are used to repair individual teeth, the color is matched to the patient's natural tooth color after a professional cleaning to ensure a flawless look.
The veneer application is performed over two visits. In the first visit, the patient's teeth are examined for overall health; during this exam, we determine whether the patient is in fact a good candidate for veneers. We then work with the individual to choose the proper color or shade, and discuss what to expect once the veneers are applied. Finally, we make a mold of the patient's teeth to ensure the right fit, and if possible, fit him or her with temporary veneers. This process is intended to make the patient comfortable and aware of what to expect with veneers.
The following visit, the veneers are applied to the teeth, creating a new, polished smile.
